Rewardee is a loyalty and rewards platform for local businesses. Launch a branded program in minutes — points, stamp cards, gift cards, VIP tiers, referrals, and surprise milestone rewards. No app required for customers.

How Points Work

Points are awarded automatically when a customer completes a qualifying order. The default earn rate is 1 point per $1 spent on the order subtotal — before tax, tip, or delivery fee.

What counts toward points?

• Subtotal only — food/item cost before tax, tip, delivery, and promo discounts
• Points redeemed on the same order do not reduce points earned from that order
• Points are always positive on earn — redeeming never reduces your earn

Lifetime points determine your tier. Current points are your spending power. They move independently.

Do points expire?

By default, points never expire. Merchants can optionally configure an expiry window (e.g., 365 days of inactivity). If enabled, only current (spendable) points expire — lifetime points that determine your tier are always protected.

VIP Tier System

Tiers are based on your lifetime points total — all points ever earned. Lifetime points never decrease when you redeem, so spending freely never costs you your tier.

Lucky Order Rewards

Your restaurant has a shared order counter. When it hits a milestone (every 20th, 40th, or 80th order), the customer who placed that order receives a bonus — instantly, automatically.

Why it works

Variable-ratio reinforcement is the mechanism behind slot machines — and the science behind Lucky Orders. When a reward is unpredictable, people respond more persistently. Customers can't predict exactly when a lucky order hits (it depends on the restaurant's running total), creating genuine anticipation with every order.

How to Enroll

Joining takes zero extra steps. Place your first order at a Rewardee-powered restaurant using your email — your loyalty account is created automatically. You earn points on that first visit and receive a Welcome Bonus (50 pts) if the campaign is active.

Your referral code

Once enrolled, you have a unique 8-character referral code visible in your loyalty portal. Share it — when a friend places their first order using your code, you both earn bonus points (you get 100 pts, they get 50 pts).

2. At Checkout (BOO)

When ordering online through Boom Online Ordering, your balance appears automatically after entering your email. A "Redeem Points" option shows if you have enough.

3. Embeddable Widget

Some restaurants embed the Rewardee widget directly on their website. Log in with your email to see your balance without leaving the site.

Why a full birthday month?

Customers visit more often during their birthday month (multiple celebrations, friend outings). Competitors only give a 1-day bonus — a full month feels more generous and drives higher average order values from larger party visits.

QR code for your counter

Your merchant dashboard generates a QR code linking to your customer portal. Print it on your counter display, receipts, table tents, menu inserts, and takeout bags.

Boom Online Ordering Integration

How it works at checkout

1. Customer places an order on BOO and enters their email
2. BOO looks up their Rewardee balance and displays it at checkout
3. Customer can optionally redeem points ("Apply $X.XX in rewards")
4. Payment is processed with the discount applied
5. BOO calls the Rewardee /api/award endpoint
6. Points are awarded, Lucky Order counter incremented, bonus fires if applicable
7. Customer sees new balance on the confirmation screen

Points earned on an order

points_earned = floor(subtotal_dollars × earn_rate)

Example: $24.50 subtotal × 1 pt/$1
= floor(24.5) = 24 points

Redemption value

API Overview

Authentication

Server-to-server endpoints require the x-rewardee-service-key header. Public endpoints (balance, history, program) are CORS-enabled and require no auth — designed for browser/widget use.
